Our Story
Real Hunts. Wild Places. No Shortcuts.
Broken Plains started with a simple idea: create a hunting experience that honors the land, the game, and the people who brought us here. Set against the vast prairie and rugged Missouri River Breaks of Central Montana, our hunts are designed to feel authentic, personal, and unforgettable.
We built this operation from the ground up with intention. Our private ground combines miles of river and breaks, open plains, and rugged foothills, paired with comfortable lodging and thoughtful hospitality. Every detail is designed to make your experience seamless — from hunts that begin at sunrise to evenings gathered in the lodge.
This isn’t a high-volume operation. We focus on quality over quantity and believe in offering well-prepared, ethical, and personalized hunts. Rushed days and crowded fields aren’t our style. Instead, we create experiences that let you fully enjoy the pursuit and the place. And we couldn’t do it alone. Our team might be small, but it’s mighty: just the two of us and our three dogs.
Together, we work to ensure every moment of your visit feels personal, smooth and full of passion for the land and the hunt.

Meet the Crew

Ethan Demi
Owner | Guide
Ethan is the man behind Broken Plains, but he didn’t start with a business plan. He started with a single onX pin and a cross-country drive to Montana. With no contacts, no land, and no guarantees, he showed up with one goal: to hunt and learn the country from the ground up. Over the years, Ethan poured himself into building relationships, gaining access to quality ground, and learning the land and the game species that call it home. Through long days in the field, trial and error, and the help of good friends made along the way, that one pin gradually turned into something much bigger. A few short years later, that foundation became what is now Broken Plains Outfitting Company. Today, Ethan guides every hunt with the same passion that got him here. He is committed to delivering an authentic, unforgettable Montana experience built on hard work and a true understanding of the land.

Courtney Green
Operations
Court plays a key role in helping bring the entire Broken Plains operation to life both behind the scenes and in the field. From managing logistics and planning hunts to guiding, she ensures every detail is dialed and every day runs smoothly. Equally comfortable coordinating the moving pieces of the business as she is stepping into the field when it matters most, Court shows up wherever she’s needed. And she’s never far from her right-hand man, Goose.

Ruger
Chief Retrieving Officer (CRO)
Ruger is Ethan’s original hunting partner and the dog that started it all. He made the cross-country trip to Montana in 2021 by Ethan’s side, and he was the driving reason behind the journey. Calm, sharp, and reliable, Ruger is always at Ethan’s side to retrieve and keep things running smoothly in the field.

Bridger
Assistant Retrieving Officer (ARO)
Bridger may be Ruger’s son, but he’s quickly carving his own legacy. He brings youthful energy, curiosity, and strong instinct to every hunt. He’s a trusted partner who’s earned his stripes one hunt at a time.

Goose
Head Of Field Operations (HFO)
Goose is Courtney’s right-hand man and inseparable sidekick. He is focused, fast, and reliable, especially in conditions where it matters most. He adds energy, humor, and a lot of heart to every hunt.
